4th computers - Several more groups chose their backgrounds for their chosen Yearbook pages, while others worked on photo formats on their page(s). Together we worked on home row keyboarding.

4th Library - We worked on ordering decimals to the hundredths place in preparation for shelving books, and then checked out books.

Kindergarten - practiced logging onto the computers (for the second time) using Ctrl+Alt+Del. They did so well logging on and helping each other that I showed them how to navigate to my website, locate the kindergarten link and open games. They had about 7 minutes of game time before we practiced logging off and signing out. What fast learners they are!

Digital Photography - kindly critiqued round #2 of "Rule of Third" pictures. Students learned about leading lines and will be trying their hands at this composition technique over the next two weeks.
2A Library - worked in teams to put words in alphabetical order before checking out books.
2B Library - silent reading for 10 minutes after MAP test
3rd - Students wrapped up their first MLA formatted paragraph in the lab. In the library they worked in small groups to alphabetize a set of words before checking out books.
K - With the help of some 4th grade buddies, kindergarten learned how to log on and off the laptops today! :)

1A - In computers 1A practiced logging on/off the laptops, opening/closing WORD, and typing in word using the shift key and the space bar. In the library they checked out books for the first time and enjoyed a little 'read to self' time :)
5th grade - Fifth graders worked hard and helped each other out while trying to format 5+ paragraphs from Nat Geo Kids (about the inside of the earth) into MLA format.
1B - Students checked out books in the library and worked on WORD skills, especially using the shift and enter keys, in the computer lab today.
2A - Second graders had silent reading time in the library before checking out books to take home. Later, in computers they worked on using the shift and enter keys as well as the space bar.

4th - In library this morning 4th grade learned about comparing decimals to the hundredths place in preparation for one of their service projects...shelving books. They did an amazing job with their decimal assignment! Afterward, they checked out books to take home and enjoy :)
1A - Mrs. Weatherbie's students practiced logging on/off the laptops, opening/closing WORD, typing in WORD, and printing from WORD. (all in just 30 minutes...WOW!)
Kindergarten - Our Kindergarten students are great at recognizing their capital letters in the interactive games we've been playing for two classes now. Next week they'll learn the keys: Ctrl, Alt, delete and enter. Then we'll show them how to use those to log on to the laptops for the first time :)
Curriculum Night - The gym opens at 5:15 and the program starts at 6:00. I will have some spirit wear on sale before and during the first teacher presentation in the hallway of the main school building. After that I'll be putting on my parent hat and attending the second teacher presentation session. :)
4th grade - The students wrapped up their first MLA paragraph about what they did over the weekend, printed it out to turn in to Mrs. White, reviewed internet safety and practiced math skills. Five students tested out the new sound reducing earphones I purchased for the lab to help students focus when there is a bit of noise around them :)
2B - Students in 2B practiced logging on/off the laptops, locating WORD, typing in WORD, and printing from WORD today.
1B - We reviewed logging on/off and opening/closing WORD. We also went over internet safety today.
Digital Photography - DP students turned in their first round of digital images taken following the Rule of Thirds. We kindly critiqued the images and discussed what we liked about them and what could be done to improve our technique. The class will be working on Rule of Thirds again this week, building upon what they learned during today's critique.
